Who it is for

For companies that keep, on a server, on computers or in Microsoft 365, information that cannot be lost: client files, payroll, tax filings, email with years of history. In an accounting office, losing a folder can mean redoing weeks of work close to a deadline.

It fits both companies that still have no backup and companies that have one but have never tested whether a restore works.

What is included

The 3-2-1 rule and the restore test

A sound backup follows the 3-2-1 rule: 3 copies of the data, on 2 media, with 1 outside the office. A server failure, a dead disk or ransomware then cannot take every copy at once.

The other half of the job is the restore test: from time to time the team recovers files from the copy and checks that they open. A backup that has never been restored is an assumption, not a guarantee.

Acronis, or Microsoft 365's own backup?

Microsoft 365's built-in tools help undo recent mistakes, but they are not an independent copy. In practice the two complement each other.

Questions about this service

Acronis or Microsoft 365 backup: which should we use?

Microsoft 365's own tools (recycle bin and retention) recover deleted items for a limited time; by default, 14 days for deleted items in Exchange Online and 93 days in the SharePoint and OneDrive recycle bins. They are not an independent copy of the data. Acronis backup keeps copies outside Microsoft, with retention you define, and can also protect servers and computers. For offices that depend on email and files in the cloud, the practical choice is both: the built-in tools for everyday recovery and Acronis as the safety copy.

Doesn't Microsoft already back up Microsoft 365?

Microsoft keeps the service running and replicated, but protection against accidental deletion, ransomware or a person leaving the company is the customer's responsibility. The recycle bin and retention policies help, but they expire and they are not a separate copy. That is why we recommend an independent backup such as Acronis.

How do we know the backup actually works?

By restoring from it. Besides checking that backup jobs finish without errors, TechPartners BR runs periodic restore tests, recovering files and confirming they open. A backup that has never been tested is only an assumption.

How much does Acronis backup cost?

It depends on what will be protected (computers, servers, Microsoft 365) and on cloud storage. The price is quoted on request, after a look at your environment.
